Perfection Won't Get You Results (but this will!)

I want to touch on something that used to be a major roadblock for me: perfection.

I used to think that if I couldn’t do it all perfectly, then what was the point? Sound familiar?

Perfection is a common trait I see in women who are driven to excel in every area—work, personal life, and wellness. But let’s be honest: Is that truly fulfilling? Or is it just an ever-moving finish line we chase, believing we need something to constantly strive for? Because otherwise, what are we? Lazy?

But we both know that’s not true.

This mindset is unsustainable and stressful. It’s not living.

Here’s the thing: Perfection will freeze your progress.

Is it realistic to:

  • Never enjoy dessert?
  • Avoid all processed foods?
  • Only eat organic 100% of the time?
  • Skip nights out with friends to stick to a diet?
  • Eat only grass-fed, perfectly raised animals?

Of course not. Those expectations box you into a life you don’t want.

Instead, let’s focus on what truly matters and be consistent with those things the majority of the time. Because at the end of the day, that’s what really counts.

Redefining Perfection: What Really Matters

Let’s flip the script on perfection. It doesn’t have to mean hitting every macro or never missing a workout. Instead, imagine if perfection looked like:

  • Eating more foods that make you feel good
  • Enjoying that slice of pizza without guilt
  • Hitting a personal record in the gym
  • Taking an extra rest day when you need it

I’m here to change the narrative around “perfection.” Because the truth is, when we see perfection as “all or nothing,” we’re setting ourselves up for burnout.

Life isn’t black and white—it’s full of color! 🌈

And it’s what you do most of the time that makes those colors vibrant.

So, if you haven’t been able to give it your all lately—that’s OK!

This is real life, and that’s exactly why my programs are built on baby steps. It’s about creating habits that last, not setting impossible standards.

So, what if perfection meant:

  • Choosing you first
  • Eating healthy most of the time, but enjoying ice cream on a hot day
  • Trying new foods when you travel
  • Taking a rest day just because
  • Not biohacking every single day
  • Picking one self-care ritual instead of all of them
  • Cooking dinner at home but ordering meal service for lunch
  • Messing up sometimes and just shrugging it off
